  • Testing the Speed of my Broadband

About 3 months ago I think there was a thread where we were all testing the speed of our broadband. I have since gone back to school and would like to run a test on the speed of my internet connection here. Does anyone remember what site we were directed to on that old thread? I would like to go back to that site. Thanks in advance for any help.

My Speed Test Resulted in the Following:

        <img border="0" src="http://studentwebs.winona.edu/cablomqu6772/speed.jpg"></p>

I'm interested to see what speeds others are getting on other connections. If you are at a college and connected to a large netowork, I am especially curious about your results. I think results should vary quite a bit depending on what time of day you run them over your network.

Hit the Alt + Print Screen keys then open up Paint and hit the Ctrl + V keys then save the image as a .jpg. ;)

I didn't think we had a thread on this anymore. There isn't anything in the Internet and Networking section about this. If there is, this thread should be added to that one I suppose. Sorry if I'm creating redundant threads.

The picture above has been changed, it used to be 1800kbps. Do networks usually vary this much in DL speed? I ran this test at 1 AM.

Corduroy - When I lived in the dorms I tested my connection often, and it fluctuated an insane ammount. It all depends on how many people are downloading porn when you run the test.

By default the forums' software only shows threads that have been active in the last 30 days (unless you have changed this value in your user cp) but if you go to the bottom of the front page of a forum there is a drop box that can show threads from the begining of these new forums. ;)
