Networking idiot?

Hello gurus!

I have a problem in connecting two XP Pro PCs in a network, when it shouldn't be!!!

Both computers log on to internet using a switch and DSL, no problem. Ive followed every wizard I've seen, and I still cant make it work!! Do I have to set the one computer as a server? Buy some more network cards? use the good old serial cable? or maybe get some help from the gurus?

Ive disabled firewall, and checked IPs and Im running out of ideas..

Ive seen that tread but internet isnt a problem, but sharing files is.
Do I have to line it up through one of the computers?

So you've got Internet sharing working OK?

Have you actually got some folders shared yet, or is that what you are having trouble with?

Iternet sharing through a switch works fine, and Ive shared harddisks on both computers, but i still cant get it work
