Gee I can d/l 4 or 5 things at a time and still surf in a few windows plus share off the connection with 1 or 2 other PC's (which are usually playin' online games) just with cable with no real effect on speed so I really can't understand the "why" of it unless ya want a dedicated line for a high useage server that has alot of traffic.

I have had as many as 13 downloads going while I surfed. That was d/l game demos and mp3s. Never had any problems. Two high speed lines, unless you have a bank of computers, seems superfluous.
Each Connection I have a "NIX" box doing IPCHains, so they are my "routers" Then i have two machine, One i do all of my irc downloads and NEws group downloads, ftp down and up and etc. The other machine I do my surfing and chatting , etc. Then my laptop I do lots with. ( also building another machine :) )
Mostly I do it because I download ALOT, TONS! It never stops on the cable modem. And I have the money so why not? Maybe you just need to be a geek to understand :)
