  • Deregulation of the .com.au, .net.au, .org.au and .id.au

This may interest some of you...

Did you know that deregulation of the .com.au, .net.au, .org.au and .id.au domain name space has occurred?

This may have immediate and significant implications for your company as you can now register domain names that have a close and substantial connection to your business and, you can have multiple domain names for the one company. You can now register generic names, services you supply, events, brands, professions, activities, abbreviations and acronyms relating to your business. Smith’s hardware store could register for example: hammers.com.au, hardware.net.au, shs.com.au etc.

This is effective July 1, 2002 and will be on a first come, first served basis.
