  • Vanishing Joystick

Win 98se can no longer find my previously functional Sidewinder USB joystick.I've checked my USB hub/controllers, updated my 4in1's,patched the USB driver, read Microsoft's Knowledge base articles, checked my ports still work, re-loaded the software & gone quietly crazy. Any ideas? Microsoft mention a prob with AMD cpus over 350MHz with VIA chipsets ( Athlon 1.33/A7V133) but hey it used to be detected!
As a last resort does this sort of thang happen with XP?
    Thanks.

The USB problem MicroSoft talks about does have a fix.
    You can get it here

It's a tiny little download, but it does wonders. Good luck, I hope that hooks you up:)

Having any problems with other USB devices? If not, is there another PC that you can use to check the joystick?
