Re: My friend needs help.
umm.... Windows doesn't crash and randomly "dump" things. Even were this the case I just can't really see it deciding to just keep applications while "dumping" all viruses and media files. In this case I would recommend that your friend find a professional (or at least someone with some basic computer knowledge) to deal with whatever problem the system has.

Re: My friend needs help.
That's the way he described it. My guess is the computer crashed and dumped anything that wasn't an application. Either that or the virus eliminated all the media files on the computer. The virus, i have no idea, possibly windows dumped it along with everything else.

Re: My friend needs help.
Just what do you mean by a "system boot"? How were the "main" files and applications recovered? What happened to the viruses? Have they been properly and completely removed? A lot of questions need to be answered before anything can be solved.

My friend needs help.
Or his girlfriend atleast. They had to do a system boot because of pile up of "limewire" viruses hit. All the main file and Applications were recovered but, not thier media. So, both of them have a combined IQ of 6, so, need some simple (And I mean simple) insturctions to get those files back.Tags: None
