System freezes and doesnt respond

Following system freezes occasionally, not sure of the cause.

Duron 650
KOB 730s mobo (SiS730 chipset)
256MB PC100 SDRAM (2x128mb sticks)
Asus Radeon 9200SE 64MB (using catalyst 5.6 drivers)
8GB Maxtor ATA33 hard disk
32x Sony CDROM
235w generic psu

Any ideas?

I tried replacing the onboard gfx with the 9200SE (got it very cheap) but still no luck.

What apps are you running when it crashes? What OS? Any BSOD message?

My first guesses are not enough power or a heat issue. It could also be memory incompatibility with the mainboard but you'll usually get some sort of error message if this is the problem.

power supply or memory would be my two best guesses then. I've had occassions where both of these issues have caused a system freeze instead of reboot.
