  • I need help!

Okay, so I bought all this cool stuff to put in my bro's computer that I'm building. AMD64 3500+, Asus A8V mobo, crucial ballistix ram, 6800GT, the works. I go to hook it up and run a quick test with everything out of the case and there's no picture on the monitor, only an error saying like "no signal found" which means that it's not reading the video card or the cable is loose. So I make sure the cables are connected and snug and the switch out the video card, then try a different monitor. The only thing I didn't try was a pci video card because I don't have one. But in the end nothing worked, so I think the AGP on the mobo is defective. Any other ideas?

The card might be defective, too. Make sure it's in there securely. Also, you might simply not have enough power. I'd avoid using less than a 450W PSU from a good brand name, and I doubt any PSUs under 400W could handle that system for long, even high-quality ones.

If you can't figure it out, RMA everything you can't test in another system.
