  • Pauses and jerkiness in Doom 3

    Hey guys,

I just got doom 3 and i have to say... WOW. But one thing thats been bugging me is that when i play in the high settings there seems to be some delays when moving in between scenes and such. Is this because I only have 512MB ram or is it something else, such as overclocking issues. My current set up: P4c 2.6 oc'd to 3.4 512 DDR ram, 5959 Ultra GPU. Thanks

I dunno, Try adding a little voltage or easing of the OC's and see if that makes a difference.

ok i tested the OC, thats not it so im guessing its the ram.

If i have two sticks of 512 in there do the new ones i add have to be identical? As in same brand and model?

check the hardware guide for Doom3 a@ hardOCP: http://www2.hardocp.com/article.html?art=NjQ0

find a similar system to yours and use their recommended settings even if it means dropping the quality down to medium or dropping the resolution down to 1024x768 or 800x600.. My friend is playing it @ a 45fps rate on an AthlonXP 2000+ with a GF3 @ 1024x768 medium quality..
