damn pic wouldnt post i gave it 2 trys, i am only using 1/2 the amerage on the psuit still had alot more left, is that alot of wear??? this psu is heavyh as a brick so i opened it there are 2 enourmouse cap/heatsinks and it was heavy so it should be good (link=http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProduct.asp?catalog=58&DEPA=1&submit=property& mfrcode=0&propertycode=&propertycodevalue=4312), but even so, it couldnt boot off a hdd and 1 cdrom? with a mobo at normal speed?should io get a new psu rather then a new mobo?

Well ya link shows me 8 different 450W PSU's but as I said b4 there's no way that I'd expect any 450W PSU to power all that ya have and survive for very long.

It's very possible. Borrow another from someone and with just the bare minimum hooked up see what happens. It's also possible that with the PSU saggin' (especially on startup) that something else may have been damaged as well (a lack of power can be just as dangerous to electronics as a surge).

it still has problems running the memtest and windows was as instable as normal with the x0000007 blue screen of death error, and it took 8 times of booting for it to work. mind you it was at complete spec of the hardware (no overclocking) 1 hdd with the OS 1 rom and a floppy. the psu didnt have a voltage rating on it (the one from my dell) but it said 32A on 12v and 29 on the 5v. *sigh*:?: :?: :?: :?: :?: :?:

I think something is fried in the chipset. Probably the mem controler like you said.
I have this customer with a asus p2b/pIII450 and his mobo keeps frying memory ever few months. He just won't listen and keeps buying new memory and paying me to reformat it everytime.(he needs a new mobo) (I don't know why he hangs on to something that fries other stuff)

I hope your new ram is not fried.
