Ok, i am not sure if this is in the right section but it does have to do with Audio...Car audio that is...
Ok, here goes...Last night i ordered online 2 pairs of speaker at 50 watts RMS and 200 Peak from Alpine. I also bought a Rockford Fosgate amp...the amp is rated at 62.5x 4 @4 ohms. That is 12.5 more than what the speaker are rated. BUT this is the dilemma...that 62.5 W per channel is under a 14.4 Volts. I own a Honda Civic 2000 and i believe my car is 12V...but some dude that knows somewhat about this said that no 12V is when it of an it jumps up to 1.5 or 14V when the car is on. My buddy said thats not true that your voltage does jump but not by that much.
So...umm...does any one know anything about this. I spent some nice cash on these bad boys and really don't want to blow them...The reason why i bought that amp was because i thought the Wattage per channel will lower since the voltage decreases.
Thx for any helps given..:)
