  • Onboard sound doesnt work on my Gigabyte GA-7VAX

Installed all the proper drivers (realtek) for my on board sound Gigabyte GA-7VAX. Enabled it in my bios (AC 97). At device manager it says it works properly. But no sound and When I try to turn up volume at control panel audio it states that there is no audio available.......

    Plz help ...

It seems that i have the same problem with my Zenith 7NJS mainboard... The on-board audio chip (CMI8738) works but it is not working as it must be. It playback the sounds really slow.

Have you installed USB 2.0 drivers for your motherboard. If your are running XP/2k and your motherboard supports it then you have to install them. It seems to have some connections with the on-board sound subsystem on my m/b, why don't you check it out?

    Hope this helps...
If it is please tell me, because i still have problems with my sound.
Windows refuses to update the default USB Host Controller with the one that came with my m/b.
