Why is it that when i plug my sound card in (Xonar Essence STX) my monitor doesn't work? I've tried all my PCI-E slots and it's still the same.. ?

I have the GA-X58A-UD7, with the EVGA GTX580 SC
Init Display First is set to PCIE x16-1, which is the slot where the gfx card is in.
