Re: Little Help From the Pro's Please

I do believe you can run three monitors off the 6970, but you will need to make sure you have all the connection cables needed

And yes I think you can run the 295 with it, as a physx card.

The 6970 will be a big improvement on the 295 for sure!

As for your other options, not too sure, I think a 5870 would cover your upgrade desires too and be cheaper so you may want to look at those as well.

I'm not a gamer, so hopefully others will reply for you with more in-depth thoughts on this.

i think the 6970 is only single core, the 5970 is dual core graphics card so im guessing it would be more powerful, but either are better than the gtx 295

Re: Little Help From the Pro's Please

What power supply do you have? Does it have enough power (total wattage and 12v amps) and the right connectors to support upgrading and or adding to your cards?

What is your objective? Are you trying to get the best video card, or best for some budget level, or achieve some minimum rate for certain games?

To better define personal objectives and system requirements you should go to Updating Video Card - Defining Personal Preferences &System Requirements. They also provide general help on upgrading a video card.
