  • Crazy CD problem

OK this is about the craziest problem i ever encountered

I have a cd burner and a DVD drive on the same channel
now they were working fine yesterday but today something happened, something terrible.
They dont recognize any cds that i put in them, burned or not...they show up in windows, both have power, i checked the jumpers and also tried one at a time with the corect jumper settings
any ideas what it could be?

    Re: Crazy CD problem

Have you gone into the device manager and removed the IDE controller that they're on and then rebooted? Also did you make any changes to hardware or software prior to this problem? (plug in any USB or firewire devices?)
