Re: $800 intel core Gaming Computer
Personally I would not buy any Core 2 based CPU brand new any more. You'd simply be giving Intel money for old rope. End of life parts for full retail price is a bad bad idea indeed! For a similar budget you can get a core i3 CPU and motherboard. The i3 will actually be cheaper than an E8400 and possibly the E7400 too. Not saying that the Exxxx series are crap, they're not. I had one until a few weeks ago and it was fantastic, just not fantastic enough to buy a new one compared to i3/i5/i7.
The choice of GPU was also a poor one as Jason 4Ever pointed out. You'ds struggle to play anything on a 4550. At minimum grab a cheap 9800GTX+/GTS250 or even better a HD4850/4870. The 5770 is also an excellent choice and should be picked over my other suggestions as long as it's within budget.
Code:• Case: Antec Six Hundred No PS Mid Tower Gaming Case • CPU: Intel Core i3 530 Dual Core @ 3.06GHz • Motherboard: Gigabyte H55M-UD2H • Memory: G.Skill Ripjaws 2*2GB 4GB Kit DDR3 1333 MHz Or Corsair XMS3 @ 7-8-7-20-2T 1600MHz DDR (nice for overclocking to have more hflexibility on RAM multiplier) • Video Card: GIGABYTE ATI Radeon HD5770 512MB GDDR5 DVI/HDMI PCI-Express Video Card OR GTS 450, Maybe a GTX 460 if cash allows • Hard Drive: Seagate ST3500418AS 500GB SATA2 7200rpm 16MB Hard Drive <-- I prefer Samsung F3 500GB or WD Caviar Blue 640GB. • Optical Drive: Samsung SH-S223C/BEBE 22X SATA DVD+/-RW Internal Drive (Black), Bulk w/o Software • Power Supply: Topower/Epower ZUMAX ZU-500W 500W 20/24pin ATX V2.0 Power Supply < Fine power wise but consider 600W + for flexibility • Keyboard & Mouse: Logitech G15 Gaming Keyboard <-- Nice choice! Razer Abbyssus/Deathadder gaming mouse • Operating System : Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit(1-Pack), OEM • Monitor: Acer V193WEJbd 19 inch Widescreen 50000:1 5ms DVI(HDCP) LCD Monitor (Black) <-- Get the biggest screen you can afford after buying all other components.
