  • Burning games/DVD

    i understand that the xbox and ps2 games are on a dvd format..my ? is if i wanted to make a copy of my xbox/and or DVD movie...i would just pop in a DVD-r into my DVD burner and burn away?and also can i compress them to put them on a CD-R?

      is there a way you can make a xbox read cd-r's? with out a mod chip or do u have to have it?

        Got to have it, the boot info won't be on the burned disc.

          Yes as long as its a Samsung player than yes it can read all cdrs whether modded or not.

            burning a dvd-r is the easiest way of copying xbox games, it worked for me until i got my mod chip. :-)

              does it need to be a dvd-r?? becuse my dvd burner only does dvd+r's and dvd+rw

                I'm not positive, but I'm about 95% sure that that's impossible. I've never heard of a DVD burner that doesn't support DVD-R.

                    look for a firmware upgrade. it ma be upgradeable to -r

                        I am talking about the firmware that the drive uses. Most DVD burners are able to be updated with newer firmware. Look on the manufacturer's web site to see if your model is upgradeable. It's just like flashing your motherboard's bios. DVD burners use a ROM chip to tell it how to run and what media it can use. This would get flashed with a new firmware if it is possible.
