You should be glad it's out of misery Albinus, before the
starter had chance to go out......as it takes either 2 ppl/
extremely long arms/three foot breaker bar to r&r the
starter motor in a civic......and have you considered a
Toyota Celica '80 to '82 models last forever if well maintained.
Old Volvo's from early to mid '70's also last like energizer bunny,
plus when they die u at least have some kick ^ss cycle carbs:laugh: good luck and happy auto hunting:thumb:
Happiness isn't something you experience; it's something you recall.

I'm not sure if I posted some pics here, but I ended up getting a 1988 Hyundai Excel X1 model

*waits for laughing to subside* :tears:

The low purchase price negated the amount of repairs done, but it finally seems to have become a reliable piece of machinery. One problem is the high compression ratio of the engine, and instead of taking the distributor back a few degrees (and lose power), I just use PULP instead of ULP. And namely BP Ultimate - that stuff rocks :thumb:

Body is in VGC, engine resleeved and only done 174,000KM which is quite low for a 1988 model. Drinks 7.8L/100KM on city cycle and 6.25L/100KM highway cycle, which is pretty bloody good for a carburettered engine :)

And parts are a LOT easier to get than for the Honda - although admittedly I need more of them
