ok the honda of america thing. wut do you think that they ship in a bunch of japanese people to fill all the work they produce here. if you call any honda factory or dealership do you think youll only get a jap who speaks broken english. your simply wrong. yes the parent company gets a percentage of its profits. if you think that the people dont get paid good youre wrong. most of the execs are american too. oh yea and i guess you didnt know that japan has little natural recources. things like steel and aluminum. where do they get it hhhhhmmmmmmmmmmmm could it be american workers. ok so honda employs thousands of people here in AMERICA. ford builds its cars in MEXICO. i can pronounce the state where hondas are made, can u do that for ford.hmmmmm so hondas are made with quality american work and fords are made with 3rd world labor(yes mexico and canada might as well be 3rd world) so if you wanna buy a ford made by a guy makin 40 dollars a month go ahead. by the way im a junior in college i think you should take the economics course. and youll think twice about where to spend the check for letting uncle sam butt rape you, soldierboy.

OK, sounds like you were awake in class.
That was along the lines of the point I was trying to make some time ago.

That last line was rather harsh though -- ugly hazing memories perhaps?

wow, a junior in college, well good for you, global economics, yes, they have few natural resources such as aluminum and iron, etc, and they USED to import them from us, but now they make their cars here, so no need to import the metal right?? wow, what a concept. as far as the workers here, yes, honda workers are american, BUT, they are NON-UNION, meaning they have no job security....the Fords that are built here support union labor. as far as uncle sam "buttraping me", lets take this from the beginning. it doesnt sound like a big deal for you, because you are probably some spoiled little rich kid, who gets upset when his parent's servant forgets the curly straw in your chocolate milk, but i took an oath to give my life if needs be to protect not only your freedom, but your rights in this country. the thousands of people like me go overseas and put their lives on the line to keep you safe in your bed at night. dont you ever take that for granted, and reduce its value. its people like you who disgrace this country, its founding fathers, and all we stand for. true, you are free to your opinion, but dont talk **** on me for being willing to protect your right to say it. i guess my scrolling message in my signature applies to you too, oh wait, you don't even have patriotism AFTER September 11th. damn kids these days :shoot3:

              Testify Wizard!!

              Yes Sir! That's right!

But I never heard of a Union guaranteeing job security.
They will however collect their dues while you are unemployed.

Every American has the same attitude, and it ****s me, most Americans are very up themselves about their country, America is actually a pretty crap country, I have been to America and hated it, give me a good free country like Australia, over here, we just don’t give a ****. And don’t cry poor because if I recall the American dollar is worth a hell of a lot more that ours.

wizard how can you relate our forefathers to the modern day police state we call america. they beleived in true freedom not just the "freedom" that has been crammed down your throat. about the economics your so up to date on maybe youd know that the original constitution BANNED an income tax. oh im sorry cnn didnt tell you that did they. our forefathers beleived in the power of states. its people like you who disgrace america. defending my freedom. bull**** you prolly scrub toilets or wash windows. as far as me being a rich spoiled kid dream on. i work like everyone else. open your eyes wizard. im not joining the military to die for what some politician beleives. ok if you are so patriotic then explain why we get mad when arafat gets a boatload of weapons to defend themselves. when every weapon the isrealis use(to kill palestinian children) are american made???? how many boatloads did it take to get 300 tanks and 500 f16s over there???why do we support a jewish state and supress a muslim one? why do we keep non violent drug offenders in prison longer than rapists and killers? the politicians you defend have corrupted america. heres one of my quotes. "free as our forefathers intended we are not"

LOL, I like that.. Banned By Administrator..

It's a little late to be picking up this thread, but I'd say that it's all in the name of commercialism. Take hardware for example. Where is it made? Where it's cheapest to make it. Where to we buy it? At pretty much the cheapest place we can get a functional product for. Some of this closing down has to do with increasing mechanization in the plants too. Have you SEEN some of the assembly lines?

We exist to make and save money. While it's true my next vehicle will be a Ford Ranger, I don't give a damn what the next guy drives. If someone else comes up with what is proven to be a better vehicle for damn near the same price, I'm probably going to be all for it. Hell I've seen some interesting competetors (say a 3 wheeled tri-car in London).

Anyways, just wanted to throw that in there :D Take it as you will (hopefully with a grain of salt)

No wait.. with what you commented on, I don't want to see you in my family (military). Yes, that's right. I consider it a family.
