                  380kph?!

The latest Commodore GTS with 300kW (400hp) propelling it was clocked by a mainstream car magazines at 250+kph and they were say that's the fastest production car in Aust.

Assuming it was a the latest and greatest CSV 330kW (440hp), the best it could hope for is 260kph. We should all know the 6th gear in the T56 box is double overdriven - extremely tall for economical cruising, not performance. And the auto slushbox would have ran out of puff a long way back...

And assuming CSV even considered fiddling with V6's, which they don't - the best power you could hope for is 230-240kW, which is a long LONG way short of the power required to get a car up to 380kph. And then you factor in wind resistance issues with a large family car...... Not even a twin jet propulsion engine could get a Commodore up to that speed.
